Showers, Gym, Sauna and Swimming With Lash Extensions

Water isn't the enemy — heat, friction and neglect are. How to live your normal life and keep your set.

Showers

After the first 24–48 hours, showers are fine. Avoid aiming hot, high-pressure water directly at your eyes, and pat lashes dry afterwards instead of rubbing.

Gym and sweat

Sweat is salty and sits at the lash line. Training is fine — the habit that protects your set is a gentle cleanse the same evening after sweaty sessions.

Sauna and steam

Frequent long sauna and steam sessions are a known retention stressor. If sauna is part of your life, be realistic about slightly shorter retention and be extra consistent with cleansing.

Swimming

After the curing window, swimming is possible. Rinse lashes with clean water afterwards, cleanse in the evening, and dry gently. Goggles that press on lashes are worse than the water itself.

When to contact a professional. Chlorinated or salt water followed by persistent stinging, redness or swelling is a reason to rinse thoroughly and contact an eye-care professional if it doesn't settle.
